Credit Card Laser Engraver
I'm a Title

1996-2016
This laser engraving module uses a class 2 fiber laser to create text and photo-realistic 3D pictures on the face of a card. This is achieved by tilting the card in 2 different directions on the YZ plans which required a gimbling device and turntable. There is airflow through a plenum beneath the card and the chamber had to go through UL and FDA testing for both laser safety and emissions/immunity.
The chamber uses special full height to block light emissions at the entry and exit. I designed several versions of this module over a few years including one for engraving passport books. The module offers edge detection for image placement, and also includes verification vision (camera at back).
